About Me

My name is Wendell and I am a New York City based sports photographer. I have always been an avid sports fan who enjoyed "just taking pictures." In 2010 I decided it was time to combine my two passions into one. I attended seminars with the New York City Digital Photography Workshop (nycdpw.com), and then studied at the PhotoManhattan Photography School in New York (PhotoManhattan.com), where I completed courses on Digital Photography and Photography Composition. In 2012, my photos were displayed as part of an exhibition for new photographers at the SoHo Gallery for Digital Art in New York City (now the SoHo ArtHouse). I began shooting freelance in 2014, and a year later I assisted my first event with USA Today Sports Images at the 147th running of the Belmont Stakes. In 2016 I joined the USA Today Sports Images photography team, and I now regularly cover major sporting events in the New York Metropolitan area.
